Figure Drawing : Open Studio Mondays

Nude models will be available for drawing from life from 6-8pm. From 8-10pm, a new model will pose for 4 consecutive Mondays to enable painting completion. Kevin Feary, Larry DeKock, John Borrelli, and Steve will facilitate the evening. All Levels Easels and drawing horses provided. Bring own supplies. $4/hour

Beginning and Intermediate Painting: All media

Mondays, April 1 - June 3, 9:30am-12:30pm. 

No class on Memorial Day, 5/27

** For those interested Steve will demonstrate new techniques using Golden's new slow drying acrylic paint.

Focuses on the techniques of the Old Masters. Students start with a drawing as an underpainting and then apply paint over this to acheive accuracy, depth, and a rich surface. The students will choose their imagery from photos, still life, landscape, or imagination. There will be individual instruction for each student and daily demonstrations.

Beginning and Intermediate Painting - All  media

1:30 - 4:30pm

April 2 - May 28

Working from the nude model, emphasis will be on the methods of the Old Masters to introduce fundamental drawing techniques. The student will be encouraged to pursue his own personal approach as he matures. The class will explore new ways to construct the figure and depict it on the page. There will be individual instruction for each student and daily demonstrations.

Special Watercolor Class

Thursday 9:30am - 12:30pm 

April 4 - May 30

Modeled after Charles Reid's teaching: Portrait and Figure Painting. Models are both clothed and nude. There will be daily demos with individual instruction for each student.
Some experience with watercolor is suggested.

Special Two Day Workshop:

Drawing Inspired by Artists Through the Ages

Two dates:

Saturday and Sunday, 9:30am - 12:30pm,lunch, 1:30pm - 4:30pm daily

March 9 - 10

April 20 - 21

The workshop will be an overview of the history of drawing from prehistoric cave paintings through the 19th century. Drawing demonstrations and exercises will incorporate all of the techniques covered in the presentation.  All skill levels are welcome to participate.  18x24 newsprint pad.
